TRUST THE PROCESS!!!!
I hate these sketches and this awkward blocky design, but this heavily informed the final design so it is a necessary evil to discuss! I ended up really loving this gesture of a home that has been severed down the middle revealing all of its layers and history... kind of like a doll house. I ended up really running with the varied height levels as well as the concept of "layers" which became a big metaphor in our design language.
